Beach Ed

What we did?

On Tuesday the 15th of march LC3 went to Mairangi bay for a beach education trip, it was really fun.
First we got introduced to the lifeguards Danielle, Olivia and Hannah and a tour of the life guard equipment. Then we got taught what a lifeguard does. My favourite part was going swimming and saving your partner it was like I was an actual lifeguard, I also liked the beach games we did. We played octopus and this lifeguard game were you have sticks in the sand and you have to try get the sticks before anyone else does, the person who gets the last stick wins. After we got taught how to get out of rips.

What challenged me?

What challenged me was running in the water, I kept slipping and it was really frustrating.

What are my next steps?

I think my next steps are to be more helpful with my partner because I wasn't being helpful that much.

    I think your blog was really good because it has a lot of detail in it, I like how you mentioned what your highlight was and what challenged you next time maybe put some more detail in your challenge and your next steps :)

Term 1 Last term I was in Felicity's maths group called fluffy. we learnt about fractions, percentages and decimals. I really liked doing Improper fractions to Mixed numbers and Mixed numbers to improper fractions. My challenges in Fluffy were trying to finish my follow ups in the little time we had. I was also a bit of a procrastinator so that had a bit to do with it as well.  My highlights in fluffy was doing improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions. Jumping Strategy Addition

What I did? This week my goal was jumping strategy addition. I went on maths buddy and I practiced jumping numbers so I could get better at it, then I could prove my goals. What challenged me? What challenged me was getting used to the strategy, but finally I did. What are my next steps? My Project Journey

I am really happy because I got chosen to be in the project group I applied for. I applied to be in the portal project because I really wanted to help decorate our portal and make it look better. This project is also giving me the opportunity to learn more about Hobsonville Point's history and sharing it with my group. I have been working with a new girl called Yuka and she is really nice. She has also adapted really fast to our school and she is very helpful with our research. Our main question we are working on now is Who used to live in Hobsonville Point? We have found great information that will help us out with our project. My highlights so far have been working with new and different people because I feel I have made some friends by doing this.
